Spay and Neuter Your Pets
Good for your pet. It helps them live longer, happier lives and eliminates several kinds of cancer.
Good for you. Your pet will become a more affectionate companion and less likely to roam, spray, fight, bite or run away. You won't have to deal with females in heat and aggressive males "Look'n for Love."
Good for your community. We are all affected by animal over-population. Millions of tax dollars are spent to round up lost, abandoned, and unwanted pets. Much of that money is spent to euthanize these animals when homes cannot be found. By spaying and neutering our adoptable pets, we are preventing the birth of hundreds, even thousands of potentially homeless animals.
Be a responsible pet owner and spay and neuter your pets.
If you think that just having one or two litters won’t hurt anybody, consider this: according to the Humane Society of the United States, 70,000 puppies and kittens are born each day. In contrast, only 10,000 babies are born.
Compare those two statistics and you’ll see that as things currently stand, there aren’t enough homes for all the dogs and cats born in this country. Millions of tax dollars are spent annually to round up lost, abandoned, and unwanted pets. Much of that money is spent to euthanize these unwanted pets when homes cannot be found.
Spaying and Neutering benefits both you and your animal. Neutered dogs are less likely to roam, mark territory and display aggression towards other dogs and humans. Neutered male cats have decreased urine odor and are far less inclined to mark their territory by urine spraying. Spayed female dogs and cats do not go through messy and noisy heat cycles. Finally both spayed and neutered animals are not subject to reproductive diseases which can be both life threatening and costly.
The single most responsible thing that any pet owner can do is to ensure that their animal is not contributing to the problem of pet overpopulation and unnecessary euthanization by having their pet spayed or neutered. By having your pet spayed or neutered, you are having a direct significant impact. Change begins with YOU!
