The West Columbia Gorge Humane Society’s Board of Directors is an all-volunteer board comprised of residents from the local community. Board meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Washougal.

The Board has nine areas of focus comprised of 52 working committees lead by WCGHS volunteers. Areas of interest include:
Planning: Strategic Planning, Project Management and Grant Writing
Development: Events, Corporate Sponsorship, Capital Campaigns, Sustained Donor Opportunities, Major Gifts and Employee Giving
Communications/Marketing: Print, Graphic Design, Website-Frontend, Newsletters, Branding, Social Media, Customer Service, Photography/Video and Merchandise
Environment of Care: Medical, Operations, Data Entry, Facilities and Animal Behaviors/Needs
Adoption/Foster: Adoption Events, Adoptions, Fosters and Adoption Follow Up
Finance: Budget, Audits, Tax Filings, Accounting, Intake of Money and Procurement
Community Outreach: Events (non-adoption), Education, Youth Programs, Spay & Neuter Outreach, Bully Breed Ambassador, Partnership Coordinator, Therapy and Community Stewardship

Drew Snyder
Drew’s background includes IT and accounting. He currently holds the position of Interim President & Treasurer and handles bookkeeping for WCGHS. Drew has been with the organization from the beginning and holds a great deal of knowledge in regard to our organization.
Mark Fruechtel
Owner of Luminescent LLC in Vancouver, Mark has an extensive background in product engineering and software development and currently holds the position of Personnel Management. In addition to WCGHS, Mark is also an Advisory Board Member at Clark County Skills Center. Mark and his wife, Becki, are devoted servants to their two dogs, Jabba and Smokey, as well as to their cats.
Diana Alderman
Diana’s background includes experience as an Administrative Assistant in the photo and book bindery industry and formerly a Clark College Academic Advisor for 2 1/2 years. Prior to Clark College, she was a Corporate Trainer for 15 years with Kodak and Fuji. Diana started volunteering for WCGHS the summer of 2008 by taking photos of the cats to post on Petfinder.com and joined the board in June of 2009, holding positions as Adoption Counselor, Cat Adoption Manager, and as a member of several committees. Currently, she is the proud owner of cats and a bird and holds the position of Adoption Chair.
Darci Lee
Professional Organizer and owner of Natural Order LLC for the past 13 years, Darci holds the position of Development Chair for the WCGHS. Darci and her husband are the proud owners of five awesome cats, three of which they rescued from West Columbia Gorge Humane Society.
Rochelle Ramos
Rochelle’s background includes over 17 years human resource and executive assistant experience as well as a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a focus in Organization Development. She began volunteering with WCGHS in 2009 as a way to give back to her local community, starting out as a cat shelter cleaner and taking on a board position in 2010, currently holding the position of Communications & Marketing Chair. Rochelle is known as a failed foster, having fostered and then adopted those three animals from WCGHS.
