The West Columbia Gorge Humane Society’s Board of Directors is an all-volunteer board comprised of residents from the local community. Board meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Washougal.

The Board has nine areas of focus comprised of 52 working committees lead by WCGHS volunteers. Areas of interest include:
Planning: Strategic Planning, Project Management and Grant Writing
Development: Events, Corporate Sponsorship, Capital Campaigns, Sustained Donor Opportunities, Major Gifts and Employee Giving
Communications/Marketing: Print, Graphic Design, Website-Frontend, Newsletters, Branding, Social Media, Customer Service, Photography/Video and Merchandise
Environment of Care: Medical, Operations, Data Entry, Facilities and Animal Behaviors/Needs
Adoption/Foster: Adoption Events, Adoptions, Fosters and Adoption Follow Up
Finance: Budget, Audits, Tax Filings, Accounting, Intake of Money and Procurement
Community Outreach: Events (non-adoption), Education, Youth Programs, Spay & Neuter Outreach, Bully Breed Ambassador, Partnership Coordinator, Therapy and Community Stewardship
Personnel Management: Human Resources, Volunteer Recruitment, Volunteer Retention, Crisis Management and Youth Volunteers
IT/Technology: Software, Hardware, Security, Website-Backend, Infrastructure and Data Support
Drew’s background includes IT and accounting. He currently holds the position of Interim President & Treasurer and handles bookkeeping for WCGHS. Drew has been with the organization from the beginning and holds a great deal of knowledge in regard to our organization.
Steve has over 20 years of experience as an Engineer in Product Quality and Technical Support. A serial adopter of rescued cats, four of which were adopted from West Columbia Gorge Humane Society, Steve currently holds the position of Information Technology Chair.
Theresa has an extensive background in accounting, finance and business operations. She currently holds the position of Special Projects Chair and resides on several committees. Theresa and her husband are the proud owners of two Brittanys, one from WCGHS, and three cats, all adopted from local rescue groups.
Misha has spent the last 10 years working for a hi-tech company in Operations in Vancouver, WA. Misha has a mix of program management, process excellence, training, and team building experience and has worked in both the public and private sector. She has a lifetime of sharing her home with dogs adopted from shelters. Misha holds the position of Marketing Chair.
Heidi has worked for the State of Oregon for over 13 years. For the past several years, she has held the position of Research Analyst for the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program within the Injury and Violence Prevention Program as well as analyzing All-Terrain Vehicle injury and death data for Oregon for the program as well. Both serve to reduce death and injury to the people of Oregon. She is actively involved in dune restoration and a land use advocate in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and serves on the Executive Board of Save the Riders Dunes. She is a volunteer youth ATV Certifier for Oregon. Heidi serves as the Community Outreach Chair. She currently has five rescued cats, one dog, and two foster Black Lab puppies.
Lauren has 18 years of accounting experience working in both private industry and public accounting. Lauren is currently employed as the Directorof Finance & Administration for a technology consulting firm headquartered in Portland. Lauren shares her busy household with her husband Matt, three kids, two dogs and two cats. Lauren holds the position of Finance Chair.
